The migrant worker poetry competition seeks to celebrate and the literary talents of migrant workers in Singapore and provide them a platform for direct expression!

First held in 2014, the Migrant Worker Poetry Competition has quickly established itself as one of the key events in the cultural calendar in Singapore.

This year we celebrate the 10th edition of the competition, and we will continue to reach out to a larger group of migrant workers. We believe that this project has become particularly relevant given the continued special circumstances faced by low-wage migrants in Singapore.

Our sponsors and partners include The Embassy of The United States in Singapore, The Good Shop, The National Library (Venue Sponsor) and ThinkRaw.

Migrant Worker Poetry Competition is part of the Global Migrant Festival

Hosted by: Global Migrant Festival and Migrant Worker Poetry Competition Singapore

The Migrant Worker Poetry Contest Organizing Committee comprises of a group of volunteers: Shivaji Das, Yu Jing Mak, Deepu Nair, Luka Cheung, Hilda Teo, Eena Khalil, Yolanda Yu, Dylan DeSouza and Abhineet Kaul.
